Blended Winglets allow an operator the flexibility of trading improved fuel mileage for greater dash speed capability. As illustrated above, an operator flying a 737-800 equipped with Blended Winglets over a very long sector could shave up to 12 minutes off of actual flight time, at the equivalent fuel mileage operating without winglets, by flying slightly faster.
